Here I sit on the R5 going home after a morning at school. As I
shuffle my way to a seat they announce to the passengers that if the
car you are sitting in is to hot it is because the a/c was not working
in all of them. So I already had my book out and thought it wasn't to
bad, so I sat and read. After a while I heard one of the conductors
tell the remaining passengers that if they so desired they could move
because the cars had emptied out. As he was telling everyone that he
started to tell a gentleman that the car should never have left the
yard if it wasn't working. And that is what really got me. Why can
people justdo what they are paid to do. You see it everywhere if you
think about it. The mechanic that had the job of checking the car I
was currently sitting, decided to let this one go. Why? The trains
come right out the yard to make their runs, so giving them the benefit
of the doubt and saying it broke after it left, well I don't think
that excuse is there. There are so so many different reasons why
humans can justify doing or in this case not doing what the are paid
to do. It annoys me that my train fares are paying people do not do
what is meant to be done. Just think about how many places big and
small these things will always happen.
